Interview: Campus life up close

Interview

Day-to-day life on campus is varied. No two days are the same. A sneak peak behind the scenes of our company brings life on campus closer.

1. How would you describe your company in a few words?

Stefan Leewe (CEO): We like to compare ourselves to a mobile Perpetuum. Set in motion a few years ago, we function as an automated system. We are constantly in motion and full of inexhaustible energy. This gives us the motivation to go one step further every day.

2. What is behind the special idea of the campus?

Stefan Leewe (CEO): We wanted to create a space in which many skills work together to move, question, and create in a pleasant environment. A space where people interact respectfully and learn from each other. With our campus, the energy-efficient house, and a sustainable basic setting, we have been successful in creating just such a space.

3. What qualities should people generally have in order to be a member of your team?

Nina Meier (HR): We are always looking for enthusiastic fashion creators who follow new ideas and paths with us and want to inspire our partners. Each employee has their own individual strengths and weaknesses. Together, we try to encourage these strengths every day and achieve the best results as a great whole. At our company, the efforts of every individual counts in helping each other in small teams. if you bring a clear mindset, a structured way of working, interest and openness to new ideas and a desire for fashion with you, this company is just the place for you!

4. What skills and qualifications are advantageous for applicants to have?

Nina Meier (HR): We are always looking for enthusiastic fashion creators who follow new ideas and paths with us and want to inspire our partners. Each employee has their own individual strengths and weaknesses. Together, we try to encourage these strengths every day and achieve the best results as a great whole. At our company, the efforts of every individual counts in helping each other in small teams. if you bring a clear mindset, a structured way of working, interest and openness to new ideas and a desire for fashion with you, this company is just the place for you!

5. How do I apply to your company?

Nina Meier (HR): We look forward to innovative applications that tell us as much as possible about your personality. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Which direction do you want to take? What do you think are your strengths and weaknesses? Usually, we have a first interview with all eligible candidates in which the aim is to meet each other and determine whether the applicant's expectations coincide with ours. In a second round of interviews, we then discuss more concrete and specialist issues. The applicant also has sufficient time to get an accurate picture of the company and the job. We are happy to answer any questions!

6. What makes your company special enough that an applicant should choose you?

Nina Meier (HR): We work in a great working environment here. There is plenty of scope for creative, innovative minds. All offices are very open, bright, and modern. There are many different ways to interact with colleagues - in good weather we like to do this by our company's own pond. The lunch breaks are one of the highlights in our company. Our cooks prepare fancy, fresh, and wonderfully served buffets for us and regularly surprise us with homemade muesli, smoothies, waffles and much more. The whole package creates a fantastic working atmosphere.

7. What is behind your slogan "OTOS"?

Nina Meier (HR): "OTOS" stands for "One Team - One Spirit". We live this motto on campus. We do not like the dog-eat-dog mentality. We believe that only if we jointly pull together and work towards the same goals can we achieve the greatest possible success. And doing it together makes it all the more fun! It is lovely to see how our employees grow in their job and develop very positively.

8. What measures are taken in order to create a harmonious coexistence and a pleasant working environment?

Nina Meier (HR): As soon as we hire new colleagues we make sure that they fit into our team and thus a pleasant, harmonious working environment is encouraged. The environment also provides a lot. Our office building is imbedded in the midst of nature and equipped with the latest technology. Very comfortably furnished, it looks more like a modern villa than an office building complex. This pleasant working atmosphere is incredibly motivating. In addition, we offer several programmes that strengthen group dynamics and the welfare of individual employees. The employee is free to choose from them. Every employee can pick out something for themselves from a wide range. For example, there is a diverse fitness offer with courses such as Zumba, Pilates, weight training, and much more. But we also like to take part in regional events off-campus such as sports events.

9. What do you undertake in order to encourage the personal development and future of your employees?

Nina Meier (HR): The development of our employees is very important to us and contributes largely to the satisfaction of every individual. Job profiles are not set in stone with us. Every employee is constantly developing the skills in their profile. Regular performance discussions between managers and employees ensure the feedback process and at the same time set the course for the future.

10. What might a typical day on campus look like?

Nina Meier (HR): Our work days are very dynamic, so no two days are the same. Of course, every employee has a fixed scope of duties and daily tasks. Nevertheless, we do not stand still. In general, we are accustomed to constantly questioning and rethinking processes. Due to a large IT system that is adapted to our needs, we are able to constantly automate and simplify processes. This creates space for creative new ideas! For individual work and above all teamwork, on campus there are a variety of work locations available for creative achievement. During the lunch break the whole team meets each other and can get to know each other and share with each other during a small break from their daily work in a pleasant atmosphere. The fitness classes in the evening finish a very varied working day with us on campus with a beneficial workout.

11. How does daily cooperation between the various departments on campus work?

Nina Meier (HR): All our departments are closely linked and interconnected. Clear structures and flat hierarchies ensure short decision-making paths. New employees are directly involved in the daily tasks and treated as a full team member. We are always pleased with the steady growth. We are in constant communication with our department, but also interdepartmental meetings are part of the daily work subject. This means not only confidence increases, but also a dynamic team grows together.
